In the novel - and movie - “Choke”, by Chuck Palahniuk ( “Fight Club”), Victor, the protagonist, keeps pestering his ailing mom about who his dad is, and before she dies, she says, “I stole you from a stroller in Waterloo, Iowa…..You were at the Cadillac Bowling Alley on LaPorte Road.”
I snatched this shot in the parking lot of Cadillac Lanes, on LaPorte Road in Waterloo, Iowa back in November 2008.This weathered sign has since been replaced with a new, albeit less interesting, one.
